Mismo

Home and workplace charging is the future for many of us and maybe even the present for some. We set out to give the users more power at the touch of their fingertips. I researched, tested and designed a home and workplace management and charging App for the industry leading turnkey EV solutions in answer to this. Bringing many of the game-changing Switch Platform features to IOS and Android.

Responsibility
Leading the design and product team on this project, we set out to gain an even better understanding of our customers, customer. This being the the end users and charger of the vehicle. Although the App would be a requirement of our B2B customers, it would be used by their B2C customers. We had the challenge of or maintaining the requirements of the customer but also excelling on the usability for the end-users.  

We workshopped what we would bring over from the platform and whats required by the end-user, as well as looking at how IOS and android could enhance the charging experience with touch payments, in phone RFID's and many more examples. We created a detailed customer journey and site map of the complete App to test with potential users.

We created an App not just for charging but for maintenance, troubleshooting, education and Dianostics. A true first for the industry.

Designing with the developers in mind, we created an App that could seamlessly work alongside the current platform, and have as little distinction from the IOS to the Android. We managed this by creating two corresponding design systems that worked together across the different systems, allowing us to lead into the best parts of each system and develop at speed.
The Result
Users using the App are now able to not only charge with confidence and understanding, but also can perform troubleshooting at the station. This is something that is not offered in the industry currently. The App gives a real-time view on the charger allowing the users to not only see issues but also solve them. The users being in control has had a remarkable difference on customer satisfaction. The cost for call-out and maintenance costs for the charger suppliers or CPOs has also decrease.
