Mismo
The EV world is one of the most exciting sectors, and Switch is at the heart of that sector. Their B2B platform and embedded OS is supercharging the change from an electric future to a game-changing present. The team at Switch are a mixture of industry leaders and discipline experts coming together to create beautiful products focused on user-experience and quality testing.
Responsibility
I joined the team as an UX & Ui designer, being just employee number 9 of what was a small team at the time (not so much anymore). My role was to plan, test, and build a platform to revolutionise the electric vehicle industry. I had a leading role in many aspects of product design, including UX research, user testing, and interface design. I was responsible for the product design of each of the products as well as growing and maintaining of the design system. Working from the London office with a small team and communicating to the larger team spread across many counties.
Over time, my responsibilities expanded to becoming the project lead on the website. Providing the strategy, design, and Webflow development.

The Website
When iterating the website for Switch, I led the team to create pages reflecting the current goals, ranging from being a thought leader in the space during the R&D process to pivoting to a more sales-driven approach focusing on the products and the 'why' for using it. Taking the project from the planning to launch while bringing my Product Design experience in gave me a unique approach and helped us succeed in increasing website traffic and conversion expediently.
A user-first approach platform that is rooted in user-testing, bringing the complexities of the EV specification to its simplest form and function.
Being part of a two-person design team with the responsibility to plan, design, test, and iterate an industry-first platform that used the latest 2.0.1 specification was a great challenge. Sticking to a clear mandate of a user-first approach, where simplicity was the goal in this very complicated product and sector gave Switch the market edge.
The Platform
Through extensive user testing, we were able to produce some amazing features that have not been seen in the EV charging sector before. Creating customer journeys that revolutionised the charging station onboarding, which has been a pain point in the industry with positive feedback from the likes of ABB, Nevve, and EV Box. This was achieved by bringing all sides of the platform delivery together from the very start.
User can gain an understanding of their networks, locations, and charging stations like never before with a clear and intuitive Ui that follows the latest specification (2.0.1). Through our process, we were able to create a platform that stands out in the industry and makes the charging experience faultless.
